Community Impact

Community Impact is making a difference!

Community Impact is a ministry dedicated to caring and compassionate help to the people in our community, who are spiritually and economically poor, socially rejected and oppressed. We also encourage a spirit of respect, self-esteem and skill development among the people we serve. All in the name of Jesus.

Christmas in the Community

New Covenant’s Community Impact Ministry, under the leadership of Annette and Wayne Glover, partners with the City of North Charleston Police and Fire Departments every year to provide toys to the communities surrounding North Charleston.

Back to School Bash

In addition to their annual toy drive, they also organize a Back-to-School Bash for families in need. The event features free school supplies, games, food, and entertainment. The ministry works in partnership with local businesses and organizations to make this event a success. The Back-to-School Bash is just one way that New Covenant is reaching out and serving the community, providing resources and support to families in need.

English as a Second Language Classes

New Covenant is committed to serving the community in various ways, including providing an English as a Second Language (ESL) class. The class is designed to help those who are not fluent in English to improve their language skills, which can lead to better job opportunities and overall integration into society. The ESL class is taught by trained volunteers and is open to all members of the community who are interested in learning English. New Covenant is proud to offer this service to the community as part of their commitment to meet the needs of those around them.

Meet Wayne & Annette.

Annette Glover, originally from the South Bronx via Puerto Rico, serves alongside of her husband Wayne as the Community Outreach Director. Annette is responsible for overseeing all Community Impact functions, our food pantry, Nuevo Pacto (Spanish ministry), and is the liaison for networking with assistance agencies in the city of North Charleston. Annette comes to New Covenant with 17 years of experience serving in such capacities as youth pastor, missions director, outreach pastor, drama leader, and prison ministry team member. Prior to coming onboard at New Covenant, Annette served as the Advocacy to the Hispanic Community for Lowcountry Pregnancy Center. Annette and Wayne’s vision is to restore our community one person at a time by showing the transformative power of the love of Christ. They both serve as chaplains for the Church of God and Annette is actively involved in community functions for the City of North Charleston. Together, Wayne and Annette have 8 kids and in her spare time you can find Annette gardening, cooking, and spoiling her grandchildren.
